We are sailors from Baltimore, Maryland – Skip and Harriet. We cruised the Chesapeake Bay for the past 20 years and spent 3 winters in the Bahamas and 1 summer in Maine. These are our cruising adventures aboard “Moondance”, a 1994 Sabre 38 with our trusty crew member, Bailey. Bailey is our Sheltie who has earned the title ‘Chief Security Officer.’
We recently sold Moondance and are now living on land in Vero Beach, FL. I know, it’s a sad day when you sell the boat but it will come one day when you’re ready. We’re still sailors and have lots of friends with boats. Our sailing and land adventures will continue!

Hey Hardys, did you get a hello from Noel sent from the Brooks’ Beer and Brat party? She started to write you to tell you how much you were missed. Lots of boats here this October and a cool but nice evening spent on the deck. We all read your blog and are following your adventure. Keep the news and pictures coming. Scuffy sends Baily her love. Hi Skip and Harriet,
Just wondering if you really do get this mail. Hope so. Loved your Dismal Swamp pictures and lock story. Let me know if you hear from me. Pat

Hello to the sailors! Willie said he missses Bailey! Leslie and I are enjoying your blogs. The kindness and warmth from the people you have met is much like what we encounter as we travel by trailer. This is turning out to be quite an adventure for you already. We wish you well and are looking forward to your blog entries!
All is quiet in the neighborhood.

Hey Harriet and Skip
Do you have time to stop in the Ocean Isle Beach vicinity for a visit? We just got back from the beach. Ken mentioned that he checked your blog and you were on your way to NC. Ken leaves for Scotland (golfing) on Wednesday (5/27) but I am here for another week.
We’d love to have you stop. Hopefully Razzle will be a better hostess dog. She has had to contend with Tom and Jane Evans dog quite often as we switch off dog sitting.
Hope to see you soon.

Wow, you two are living the life! I was going to email you but didn’t have your address. I’m writing retirement poems for Suzanne Pierce, Tim Bateman and Tom Wiseman and your names came up as people who might have some information on them. Of course, if I were you the last thing I’d be thinking of would be SSA. But if you can drag yourselves away from the good life just long enough to share a memory or two, I’d really appreciate it. I’m retiring also at end of year – wish I had a boat! Take good care!!

Ran across your photo while researching Titusville for a piece I’m about to write. I sailed in the San Fran area and the Bahamas a few years back. Vero has a pretty nice beach I trust you are visiting. Enjoyed browsing your blog.

Did the blue hull of your boat seem more hot in the Bahamas than a traditional white hull? Really like the look of the blue hulled Sabres
August 15, 2016 at 2:39 pm
We didn’t really notice that it was hotter in the Bahamas with a blue hull. We were there during the winter so the temps weren’t extreme. We definitely noticed it when we got back to Florida and lived on the boat there in April and May! Our first boat was a white hulled Sabre 32 that we sailed on the Chesapeake.
It’s a great looking boat. Our friends that we traveled with down the ICW used to ask if we ever got tired of people who passed us commenting on what a beautiful boat we had. We never did! Sabres are wonderful boats.
