Our offer on the house we really liked in Vero was accepted–Yay!! It’s a foreclosure in a nice neighborhood that’s centrally located. We originally weren’t interested in fixing up a house (been there, done that) but as far as we can tell, this one needs cosmetic work. We’ll know more after the home inspection.
If all goes well, we should close before the end of May. Before we move in, we’ll purchase new appliances, have the interior painted, install window shades, fix a few plumbing and lighting issues and maybe replace the carpet in the bedrooms.
It’s a great house with 4 bedrooms, pool and lanai. It also has a 3 car garage with one bay totally separate from the other 2–perfect for Skip’s wood shop!
I’ll post pictures as we go through the process of fixing up and moving in. We plan to move the boat to Loggerhead marina just 3 miles north of the Vero Beach city marina. It’s a lovely place and much more protected if we have to deal with a hurricane.
The marina is slowly emptying out as people head north. Our friends Bob and Pam on Silhouette left last week–she by plane and Bob with crew on the waterway and offshore.
We spent 2 fun days visiting our friends Ronny and Maureen who were vacationing in Disney World. Our little furry friend can’t stay in the park but there’s always a dog-friendly La Quinta nearby. The first night we joined R & M for an incredible dinner at Citricos in the Grand Floridian. What an amazing meal! It will go down in memory as one of the best dining experiences ever.
We spent a day wandering around Animal Kingdom with R & M. If you visit make sure you try lunch and the Yak and Yeti. I love the name and the food is delicious!
In the evening I got to get a shopping fix at the nearby Premium Outlets. Oh my, I could spend all day here! Living in Vero Beach may save me a lot of money as there aren’t any good shopping malls nearby. I will have to make an excursion to Orlando every once in a while to enjoy a day of shopping. It’s only 1 1/2 hours away!
In other news, I wrote up Bailey’s escape act from February for a contest held by PetHub, the company that makes his dog tag. We won honorable mention! Bailey and I are expecting a bag of loot in the mail.
