Skip got the ‘all clear’ from the doctor this morning so we returned the car and cast off the lines. It felt strange and liberating at the same time. We’re anchored in Big Tom Creek between the marshes of Georgia and it feels wonderful. After this ordeal we’ll never look at a minor cut the same way again.

The crew at Isle of Hope marina were so helpful and accommodating. The medical services in Savannah were top notch. All in all, it was a good place to deal with a bad situation and with everyone keeping in touch (text, phone, email, Facebook and blog!) we never felt alone.

We’ll meander our way south with definite stops in St. Augustine and Vero Beach. Now the blog can get back to the usual topics–fun, food and sailing! It feels good to be underway again!
